District Nurses

The District Nurses and their team provide skilled nursing care at home for people of all ages. District nurses can prescribe a range of medicines and products from the Nurses’ Formulary. They work closely with GPs and other healthcare professionals, enabling them to provide individual bed care for patients and their families. The doctors may arrange for district nurses to visit you at home or in the surgery. Messages for the district nurse can be left during day time on their telephone answer machine on 01883 348074 for Warlingham Green or 01883 343745 for Chaldon Road.

Community Midwife

The midwife is a professional and expert in midwifery in her own right. She works alongside the doctors to address all aspects of pregnancy care, delivery and postnatal care. At your first antenatal appointment she will discuss which hospital you will be referred to for the birth – usually either East Surrey or Mayday hospital, dependent on where you live. However, if at any stage of your pregnancy you, your GP or midwife have any concerns, you can be referred to the next available hospital antenatal clinic. The midwife holds a weekly clinic at our surgery on a Wednesday morning, by appointment only. Please ring our appointments line on 01883 635532 for Warlingham Green or 01883 345466 for Chaldon Road to arrange your first ‘booking in’ or follow-up appointment.

Health Visitor

Our Health Visitors, Jenny Stapley at Warlingham and Ashleigh Kennesion at Chaldon Road, are qualified nurses with additional qualifications. Their role is primarily aimed at child and family health, working with families in the clinic and your own home. Health visitors offer developmental surveillance as well as support, help and advice. Please contact Jenny or Ashleigh by leaving a message at the surgery or on 01883 837571.

Phlebotomist

Our healthcare assistants are trained phlebotomists and carry out blood tests on our patients on most weekday mornings. This improves care and convenience, saving a trip to the hospital. Blood tests are normally organised only by the doctors.

Training

We are fortunate to have medical students attached to our practice for short periods. If you do not wish to have the student present during your consultation, please inform the reception staff prior to seeing the doctor.
